About the Movement
The Matrescence Movement is an education, consulting and advocacy organization dedicated to bringing the science and humanity of matrescence into maternal healthcare.
We exist to close the gap between how mothers experience becoming — and how practitioners are trained to understand it.
We work across disciplines — with physicians, birth workers, mental health professionals, bodyworkers, coaches, and more — toward a single goal: matrescence-informed practice as the new standard of care.
We won’t stop until matrescence education is in Canada’s health care system, educational institutions and part of everyday language.
